Meanwhile, Daisuke goes to get the spare newspaper to cover up the table with multiple layers so that none of the paint gets on it. He also brings out a plastic bowl for both of them, full of water. Over time, they opted to change the water cup to a water bowl so that Naegi doesn't habitually drink out of it...

[ Daisuke gets to work, dutifully doing his share of the work and helping out with Naegi's when he needs it. Either way, they seem to use time pretty efficiently--something that they probably picked up from doing all those last minute projects. Time management is probably the best skill one could have during the times of crises.
And eventually, they finish! Daisuke looks pleased with himself as he attached the last crane to the mobile. ]
[ making mobile cranes certainly isn't as hard as some of naegi's uni art projects so this is a piece of cake! he finishes just about the same time as daisuke, holding his mobile up to look at ]

[ He gets out the wrapping paper and is meticulous with how he folds it without the mobile inside the paper. That's because he makes it into a basic paper bag shape first before putting the mobile in. He does the same for Naegi's too. Nothing will get crumpled! Truly, the best. Thanks, youtube. ]
[ in the meanwhile, naegi will heat up the leftover soup he made the previous night and prepare a small meal for daisuke when he wakes up. he'll eat a bit himself as well but if 15 mins pass and daisuke doesn't get up, naegi will go and wake him up by gently shaking him! ]
[ It seems like all the sneezing had gotten to Daisuke because his phone alarm blares throughout the apartment, but there is no sign of Daisuke coming out of his room after five minutes.
[ well, daisuke is definitely more tired than he said he was... so naegi will go to turn off his phone alarm and let him sleep for a bit more. yeah, daisuke said to wake him up after 15 minutes but naegi thinks he should rest a bit more so he'll let him sleep for another 20 mins! ]
[ after the 20 mins passed... naegi reenters daisuke's room with a tray of food, placing it on the table before he uses one hand to gently stir him up ]
[ Daisuke gets up with the stirring. It's a miracle that he wakes up with that rather than the blaring alarm some time ago. He opens his eyes and sees Naegi, and comes to the realization that he must have overslept, which means he must have been a lot tired than he thought. He just hopes Naegi won't grill him about it and sits up, seeing the tray of food.
God, his nose feels terrible with it being clogged like that. Maybe the nap was a mistake. ]
[ he kind of figured that there was no point in trying to convince daisuke to stay home. at the very least, he can make sure that daisuke takes his medicine and dresses warmly as they go out. ]
[ He gets out of bed and goes to the tray on the floor. He could have just eaten on his bed, but... he's probably not thinking straight. Daisuke looks like he's eating just fine though. It doesn't take long to finish, because he still can't taste anything, but he sure feels the warmth of it in his stomach. It's a nice feeling. He downs a cold medicine, gets a new cough mask, and his winter gloves. ]

[ This is his attempt at trying to sound energized so that he doesn't worry Naegi too much. ]
[ naegi is STILL CONCERNED ABOUT DAISUKE but he'll just make sure that daisuke gets enough rest tonight when they can back. he'll just nod when daisuke gets ready and he goes off to grab his own stuff! jacket, gloves, and also their gifts. time ot head off! ]

[ He's careful to keep himself warm while he walks outside. There's so much snow falling, but not to the point it looks like a storm. It's pretty aesthetically pleasing if you don't count the unfortunate souls slipping on random patches of ice.
Though Daisuke seems to be good at avoiding those and also subtly steering Naegi away from them too. Don't need bad luck to happen to now to ruin the presents somehow. ]
[ naegi is careful enough that he doesn't slip on any ice. he's learned to be especially cautious when he's out during the winter so they can make it to the orphanage without any trouble! when they do get there, one of the employees will approach them. ]
