[CUBEnix's boss is luckily a guy who knows about Retrospec, so Minako didn't have too much to worry about, paperwork-wise. Unfortunately, she can't avoid the fact that she lost a lot of PTO.
The break room is entertaining enough that the sting of the loss is mollified for now. On one particular workday, she decides to make use of it. With the remains of her lunch on the table, Minako can be found leaning forward in her beanbag chair and facing the TVs, smashing buttons to victory.
Until the boss goes into its third form and smashes her character under its gigantic fist. She groans and flops back into the beanbag.]
[ Daisuke had already eaten his lunch, but he still wants a break from the gopher work he does, and he catches Minako playing a game, right when the fist crushes her character. Ouch. Daisuke smiles a little, albeit awkwardly, and approaches her. ]
[She blinks at him upside down, giving him a crooked smile and then sitting up properly to talk to him.]
No, he's just stupidly fast with that attack and I was too slow on dodging. I just need one or two more tries to get him. [She offers him the controller.] But if you wanted to play, you're more than welcome!
[ Daisuke looks at Minako take the controller and blinks. They definitely met, but she's asking for his name? Though it was true that he didn't see her around the office because he was too busy being a menial task gopher, but...
Ah, he arrives at the conclusion that he must have been so plain looking that she forgot. And the fact that he's basically palette swapped now. White hair, red eyes... Yeah, those two things are definitely different than the last time when he talked to her. No big deal. Understandable. Daisuke smiles, though it comes out a little awkward. ]
I'm Daisuke. I'm usually running around the building for a lot of errands...
[I completely blame myself for forgetting they'd already met multiple times before this, but thank you for the save Haki. Minako stares at him for a moment, opening her mouth and then closing it before gasping and jolting so much that her character dies in the first stage of her retry.]
Daisuke? Oh my gosh, your hair!
[Eyes are okay, she has red eyes too. But WHITE, OLD PERSON HAIR.]
[ He's sadly used to this kind of reaction by now. It is indeed old person hair, if old people thought of spiking it. He looks terribly odd. He lets out an awkward laugh. ]
Yeah...but now that I know it's you, I won't make the same mistake again, I promise! [She puffs out her cheeks.] Also, now that I know it's you, I insist you play this game with me. Two heads will play better than one.
Is this a multi-player game...? Is there another controller?
[ His knowledge with games are poorly limited, so he's just looking around to see if there's another controller he can use since he doesn't see how they can play together otherwise. ]
[At first I was imagining she was playing an epic RPG but now I guess they're playing something cute like Kirby's Yarn Adventure. She waits for him to connect with the new controller and then grins.]
Okay, we have to time our attacks in between the projectiles. You charge your attack while I take out the projectiles only I can get rid of, and then vice versa.
Minako's sudden announcement catches Daisuke off guard badly. His reflexes are pretty great, but it doesn't translate over to video games very well... This is evident by the fact that he's startled and accidentally makes his own character fall down a pit.
[ Each second that passes by seems like it's taking forever as he watches Minako's game character's HP drop so quickly. He's repeating in his mind for the game to hurry up so that he can help her. Why can't this thing go any faster!!
When he finally arrives, he decides that there is no time for a charge attack, so he mashes buttons to interrupt the boss as much as he can and hope that his damage does something.
